Full weekend of events set for Black Pride in August
by Lena Roberts
Cleveland-Cleveland Black Pride will be celebrating lucky number 13 with a full weekend of activities on August 6 to 8.
The theme for this 13th annual Black Pride celebration is Unity. Various events hosted by other organizations in the African-American community will be promoted throughout the weekend, beginning with the highly suc-
cessful "Jazz & Poetry" on Friday night, sponsored by PuNané and People of All Colors Together-Cleveland with an after-party hosted by Ladies 1st.
On Saturday, Cleveland Black Pride will have two dances. Get On Your Feet will host a high energy dance for the 18 and over set, while Club Ambiance will host the White Fantasia for the more mature crowd, which will include various styles of music.
Sunday concludes the party with a
church service, the annual Picnic at Edgewater and a closing party at the Togo with Red Lady & Co.
Cleveland Pride and the Cleveland LGBT Center are also contributing to the success of this event.
Cleveland Black Pride will keep the prices affordable. The price range of these events will be $5 to $20. Cleveland Black Pride events are open to all of the LGBTA community,
regardless of race or gender. We hope everyone will come out and support us by attending at least one of our events, if not all, and show our unity.
For locations and times and more information, go to www.bgpcleveland .com or call 216-233-1411.
